The Osaka Indian Association is a community that brings together Indian students, researchers, professionals, and alumni living in and around Osaka. We aim to foster meaningful connections, support newcomers, celebrate Indian culture, and provide a welcoming community for Indians at every stage of their journey in Japan.
Whether you are a current student looking to connect with other Indians, a researcher or professional building your network in Osaka, or a prospective student preparing to come to Japan, the association is a place to connect, learn, and participate.
What we do
We organise events and activities throughout the year that bring the community together. These include cultural celebrations, social gatherings, sports activities, and opportunities to meet other members of the Indian community.
Beyond events, we aim to make it easier for people to settle into life in Osaka. Members share practical experiences and information about university life, housing, local procedures, daily life in Japan, and other matters that can be particularly useful for newcomers and prospective students.
For current and prospective students
For current students, the association provides an opportunity to meet people from different universities, academic fields, and professional backgrounds, while staying connected with the wider Indian community.
For prospective students and those preparing to move to Osaka, the community can be a useful starting point for learning about life in Japan, understanding the student experience, and connecting with people who have already made the transition.
How it works
The association is run by volunteers from within the community. There is no membership fee, and participation in the community does not require a formal application.
Events and activities may have associated costs, such as venue or catering expenses. Whenever applicable, these costs are communicated in advance.
